DEADLINE: MAY, 30, 2023
The power we possess as women is phenomenal. When women across the Diaspora gather, we build longstanding relationships that transform the lives of women and girls across the world.
The biennial Building Communities, Sisterhood, and Service Sisterhood Retreat was created in 2022 by Jamaica Alumnae Chapter past President Jewel Daniels Radford (2019-2023) to assemble sorors needing to connect, recharge, and give back. The three-day event is dubbed a time for Sun, Sand, and Sorors that showcases the beauty of island, our Chapter's transformational programs, and presentation of the $10,000 USD UWI Open Campus Mission Possible Scholarship recipient.
You will spend a day exploring the goodness of Jamaica, followed by workshops and panel discussions, Soror activities, and JAC's signature Giving Cause named the ZipCloset Campaign. Created by Soror Trinette Hylton, the current JAC President, attendees donate gallon-size zipbags of clothes, toiletries, and personal care items that are donated to organizations like Woman Inc Rape Crisis Center, Mary's Child for teen moms, and Eve for Life that helps women and girls living with HIV and AIDS.
It's our 20th ANNIVERSARY! What better time to be with Sorors in Jamaica! We invite you to join us in Montego Bay, Jamaica in October 2024 for the Sisterhood Retreat.
Keep watching this space for more details or join our mailing list by sending your name, chapter, and contact information.
We had an OUTSTANDING time together!
The all-inclusive resort was simply wonderful and treated us well. Sorors rode horses, ziplined, went river rafting, played games, relaxed at the beach, sang songs and basked in the sun. Oh, and of course we took care of our Delta business with workshops focus on international chapter engagement, community partnerships, and living well.
